a short note on being featured by University of Missouri–St. Louis publications and what that meant to me.
a meaningful checkpoint
being featured in UMSL Magazine and UMSL Daily meant a lot to me. not because it felt like an endpoint, but because it felt like a checkpoint: a moment to look back at how much has been built, learned, and changed.
the recognition mattered because it reflected the intersection of research, building, and community. those have been the threads running through my time at University of Missouri–St. Louis.
what it captured
it was meaningful to see my journey reflected by my university: computer science, biomedical AI interests, hackathons, student leadership, research, and preparing for Columbia University.
none of those pieces happened in isolation. they came from people who gave me chances, friends who built with me, mentors who pushed me, and communities that made the work feel connected to something larger.

i am grateful for the feature, but i also want to keep it in perspective. the long-term goal is not recognition. the goal is to build tools and research that actually help people.
this moment reminded me to keep moving with that standard in mind.
